Rustam-i-Hind Nawab Jamal Khan

      1717 - 1762 Rustam-i-Hind Nawab Jamal Khan, Nawab of Malerkotla, fourth son of Nawab Sher Muhammad Khan Bahadur, Sher Jang, Nawab of Malerkotla, educ. privately. Succeeded on the deposition of his elder brother, 1717. Allied himself to Ahmad Shah Durrani, during his invasion of India and was rewarded with a khilat and the personal title of Rustam-i-Hind. m. (first) Nawab Inayat Begum Sahiba. m. (second) Nawab Sultan Begum Sahiba. m. (third) Nawab … Begum Sahiba. m. (fourth) Nawab … Begum Sahiba. He was k. in battle against Maharaja Ala Singh of Patiala, 1762 (bur. Shahi Muqbara, Malerkotla), having had issue, six sons and two daughters:

1) Nawab Bhikan Khan, Nawab of Malerkotla (s/o Inayat Begum)
2) Khan Bahadur Khan, Regent of Malerkotla (s/o Inayat Begum)
3) Khan Sahib 'Umar Khan, Regent of Malerkotla (s/o Sultan Begum) 4) Khan Sahib Asadu'llah Khan, Regent of Malerkotla (s/o Sultan Begum)
5) Khan Sahib Atau'llah Khan, Regent of Malerkotla (s/o Sultan Begum)
6) Sahibzada Amanat Khan (s/o Sultan Begum). He d. young.

1) A daughter (d/o the third wife).
2) Another daughter (d/o the fourth wife).
